Music Monday: Helena

If you haven't noticed I have a very broad interest in music.  I have always loved this song ever since it came out!  I didn't ever really pay attention to the words back then but I had always been able to relate in the way that it seemed to talk about a loss of some sort.  Gerard Way(the lead singer) wrote this song in memory of his grandmother and I am now dedicating it to my own grandmother on the approach of the 3rd anniversary of her death.  My grandmother was there for me in the last few years of her life when I felt the most dreadful loneliness.  I love her to pieces and after rediscovering this song on YouTube I couldn't hold back the tears.  Thanks grandma for sticking with me when everyone else turned their backs and tried to break my spirit!  You believed in me and you believed in us and we are still going strong!

"Can you hear me?
Are you near me?
Can we pretend
to leave and then
We'll meet again
when both our cars collide?"
-Gerard Way
